Another thing you could try, is to download a special config designed to increase your FPS, one of configs like that is called yitch3, download it from here While your PC might be capable of getting 333 FPS you might not be getting it even under the proper CoD4 configurations, reason? To record a demo, you must open console and write record to stop recording, write stoprecord

Benefits of recording with demos:
-Very small file size allowing you to capture lots of footage.
-No lag/FPS hit when recording
-Ability to turn your graphics up when recording
-Ability to use recorders that Punkbuster doesn’t like, such as Gamecam
Downsides to using demos:
-No fast forward, rewind, etc. function
-You have to watch the whole demo to find what you want to record (You can’t just skip to the end
for that awesome headshot)
-Only your character’s first person view (no free spectating)
