What's new: - New: The main window was redesigned from scratch to be more user friendly and intuitive. So if you decide to use this software, a lot of the basic stuff you'd find in free windows firewall enhancers such as tinywall or binisoft windows firewall control arent there. You'll still have to use wf.msc to configure basic rules and such. But if all you want is to stop applications from phoning home, I cant recommend this software more. Windows Firewall Control is a small, free utility that provides comfortable access for the user to the most frequently used options of the built-in firewall for Windows operating systems. The built-in Firewall tool, which is implemented in Windows operating systems, unfortunately, is not convenient enough to configure and manage, which makes it difficult for especially inexperienced users to use all of its features. However, with the help of the application, even a beginner who does not have the technical subtleties of PC administration will be able to adjust his network barrier to the most optimal parameters.

After installation, the program is placed in the system tray (context menu), from where it is effectively managed by the various firewall options. For example, you can quickly enable / disable other programs to go online, configure additional rules, view current active network connections, import / export policies, and more.

Windows Firewall Control has several traffic filtering modes:

High Filtering (high) - all outgoing connections are blocked, not allowing to connect to your PC.
Medium Filtering (medium) - connections that do not match the rule you set are blocked, while the rest work without restrictions.
Low Filtering (low) - connections are allowed that do not even comply with the rule, but you have the ability to block applications to prevent outgoing connections.
No Filtering (without filtering) - Windows Firewall is completely disabled (not recommended for use).
